It is important for children to learn about how to save money at an early age, so Pillans Point School offer school banking through Westpac Bank to help get them started. The emphasis is not on how much they save, but on learning to save regularly.
Weekly deposits are accepted at school in the library each Wednesday morning between 8.30am – 9.15am. Our bank tellers are all Year 6 students who are overseen by a Westpac representative.
Each week all you need to do is complete a deposit slip, place the deposit book and money in their plastic bag and give it to your child to take to school.
With a Westpac Junior Account there are no monthly account maintenance or transaction charges, and your child can receive monthly interest on their balance. Your child will also get a free Welcome pack when they first open their account that includes: a junior savings book, with tips on learning to save and a Westpac Rescue Helicopter moneybox. They will also be sent regular statements so they can watch how well their savings are growing.
If you would like any more information please come in to school on a Wednesday morning, visit your nearest Westpac branch or phone 0800 400 600.
